Oak Hill Triathlon

And They’re Off! Mayor Fenty joined Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) Director Vincent Schiraldi and youth for a triathlon at the Oak Hill Youth Center. Twelve teams of three racers each took part in the event, which included a three-mile run.

Bike to Work. The DC Department of Transportation and Washington Area Bicyclist Association invite you to join in Bike to Work Day Friday, May 16. The annual event has 17 pit stops in the metropolitan area, including a Freedom Plaza rally from 8-9 am. Read more >>

Healthy Communities Grants. Mayor Fenty announces the first Healthy Communities Grants from the General Mills Foundation. The food giant has donated $100,000 to improve youth fitness and nutrition in the District. Four schools and nonprofit organizations will receive the grants.
